Tricky Targets - Copenhagen
At UCPH the Tricky Targets cluster focuses on the target issue concerning two groups of antimicrobial compounds, 1) bacteriocins – antimicrobial bacterial peptides – and 2) synthesis of multivalent antibiotics using dendrimers as scaffolds. The research combines laboratory work, interviews, and questionnaire investigations of researchers involved in this line of work and archival studies.
Our first publication is on the history of research of bacteriocins, including target-based aspects:
L. Martinenghi and J.J. Leisner (2022) Scientists’ assessments of research on lactic acid bacterial bacteriocins 1990-2010. Frontiers in Microbiology, https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2022.908336/abstract
Laura D. Martinenghi is the PhD researcher on this cluster.
Jørgen Leisner is the PI.
